O.K. so I made the mistake of buying cheap bulk disks.
I burned lots of DivX files . Now I can play the files fine on the computer, or on my standalone DivX player. But I can't copy lots of them onto better media. I get CRC errors.
How come they will play on a player but won't let me copy them?

Because the standalone player will skip over the errors, but Windows will stop and report the unreadable sector.

You have to use software that will image the disc and pad the bad sectors with zeros. Try IsoBuster to start with. BadCopy is another option. Some drives work better than others reading bad discs.
