  1. Every time I turn my laptop on, it stops on a screen that reads exactly:

    Loading PBR 2...done

    A disk read error occurred
    Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

I do that and it comes up again. I can't even get into safe mode. It worked fine yesterday! Can anyone help?

You need to rebuild the MBR. Boot the computer from a win98 startup floppy or something similar, then at the command prompt type FDISK /MBR this should rebuild the MBR and allow it to boot. If this does not work, your hard drive could be dead or dying. Call Dell support.

  5. Actually I remember putting a disc in for a digital copy of the movie Juno bug. I had to download the new version of iTunes which I did, then it restarted my computer with that disc still in the drive, but it booted up fine, I put the digital copy on my computer, took the disc out and turned the computer off, then when I went to turn it on yesterday it started that crap.

boot into the computer's bios. note who manufactured your hard drive, i.e. seagate maxtor hitachi etc. go to the hard drive manufacturer's website and download their diagnostic software. run it.
