Hello,
First, I don´t know if this is the right place for this kind of question... but, here it goes :
I have a movie in MKV (1280x720 @ 23.796 fps) with AC3 2.0 track.
With mkvextract, I allready demux/extract all the tracks (video, audio and subs).
I have the original DVD of that movie (pal @25fps) with AC3 5.1 sound.
I allready extract the AC3 track.
I sucessufly created a new MKV with mkvmerge using the Video from MKV and the audio from DVD, But...
Video and audio are out of sync (as i suspected).
Is there any way that i can sync the audio ?
( the mkv audio has 1:55m and the DVD audio only has 1:50m)
Do I need to convert from 25fps to 23.976 ?
Thanks

Yeah, you can't mux NTSC video with PAL audio....you just get that results
But if you have the original in DVD why do you want to do that ? just because it is High Definition ?

estás a juntar alhos com bugalhos, e isso só vai dar merda
podes fazer quando muito um DVD igual àquele que tens

As I suspected !!
Yes, mostly because its in HD !!!
but... I think it's possible, using besweet, to convert the audio from 25 fps to 23.976 fps.
do you think it will work ?
<portuguese> lol... a qualidade do video é bastante melhor... e se pudesse usar o audio original era perfeito !
de qq forma, obrigado ! </portuguese> -

Greets,
What you might be able to do... is if you can get in the position to run DGPulldown on the 23.976fps video and change the flags to 25fps then mux it back in with the AC3 5.1 in MKV. http://neuron2.net/dgpulldown/dgpulldown.html . I have done this with standard def stuff converting PAL prog 25fps to resized NTSC prog at 29.97fps and kept the audio in perfect sync. So in theory it may work for you. I do not know the format your video is in, could involve re-encoding which would introduce quality loss. Changing the audio will change the pitch of the sound.

Thanks RickA,
but, as far I understand DGPullDown only work with mpeg2 video stream.
My MKV as H264 video stream. -

I thought that might be the rub. I am pretty sure HCenc can handle those resolutions. Not quite sure how things would look after converting from h264 to mpeg2 then back to h264. Even if using high enough bitrates to keep loss to a minimum. Or if it would be worth the effort just for the fps change. Sure do wish DGPulldown would add more sources to it's input selection. Such a great program and that would make it even more useful. Good luck to ya paas48.

se for isso...tudo bem, só precisas de alterar o audio
se não for o caso terás que converter para formato Mpeg2
