One simple question: Is it possible to encode a Quicktime-Movie (.mov) that was created in the presentation software Keynote from Apple to mpeg2 using ffmpegx?
Some details to the movie-File: The format is 1280x720, 930 MB and has 86 audio layers.

Simple answer: Yes.
What is the delivery device? You may have to flatten the movie with an intermediate transcoding first. Try mjpeg-b and aiff audio for as close to lossless as possible.
MPEG Streamclip should help here if ffmpegx can't.
