    What converters have you tried?
What is the container? avi,mp4 or mkv or just .h264 files?
Can you play the files using Windows Media Player?

Try convertxtodvd. If you want free tools try FAVC or/and DVD Flick(latest beta).

Hi, I'm in the same boat. I have used ConvertXtoDVd 3 and I get out of sync audio. I have tried other software also and always get out of sync audio. I have demuxed the mkv file to h264 + ac3 using MKV Extract Wizard but don't know how to go forward from here... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Out of sync isn't the end of the world, and depending on what sort of sync problem you have, may be easily fixed. From what I have observed with my dabbling with mkv files, they are put together. most of the time, as incompetently as the many Divx and Xvid files out there. This means that often, sync problems are fixed simply by finding the delay that is required, and re-authoring the elements with the appropriate adjustments.

First thing to remember though - doing format conversion is asking for trouble, so avoid converting NTSC to PAL or PAL to NTSC where ever possible.

Second thing I have found, especially with MKV files, is that they get identified as 23.98 fps, instead of 23.976. While this doesn't look like much, it can be enough to introduce sync issues over time. I have fixed this in the past by demuxing with MKVExtractGUI, then muxing a new file with just the audio and the video (no garbage) with the correct framerate.

Finally, if you do have sync problems, try using MPC and the + and - keys on the numpad to dynamically alter the delay. If you can get the track back in sync for the duration, note the delay, demux the audio and video, and re-author with the correct delay.
