I have used this program many times before with no prob. I got a new laptop and installed DVDshrink on it, dont ask what version because i am in another country at the moment, but anyways i got it off of the web site so it is recent within 3 months. Anyways it starts when you insert at the last 6 or 7 minutes of the movie and then plays through the credits and then shows the intro scene. after the intro scene it goes to the middle of the movie and then finally it plays the beginning of the movie. Tried the movies in several dvd players, all the same. im doing a reauthor feature selecting main movie only. Nero to burn.

    Am i missing something?

DVDShrink hasnt been updated for ages and never will be again (long story cut short) and variations of DVD protections now exist - which DVDShrink can`t handle . You`ll need something like DVDFab Decrypter to rip the files and then use DVDShrink to reauthor . You can try the all-in-one pay for version or just use the free version to rip the files - this is the advice you`ll see on this website if you go to the DVDShrink download page .

Search the site for other options to DVDFab if you wish , I know other people use other tools .

Exactly. The 'latest' version of Shrink:
    Latest version:
    3.2 (Jul 25, 2004)
I still use Shrink by itself most times, along with ImgBurn to burn the discs. But Sony and other DVD manufacturers now have encryptions it can't handle. But DVDFab HD Decrypter should be able to. Then just run the decrypted file through Shrink.

I'm curious why you thought that not naming the DVD you ripped was a terrific idea. I suppose it never occurred to you that if we knew the name of it, somebody might possibly have known if it had special copy protection on it. But I guess it's always a better idea to not provide such helpful info as that might actually increase the odds of you getting help.

Usually with the newer copy protection schemes, DVDShrink will simply fail. The newer schemes typically contain bad sectors deliberately placed on the disc so that programs like DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter will fail when they hit them. I suppose it's possible that this could be a newer copy protection to jumble the video. It could also be a very badly authored DVD. But since we don't know what you ripped, we don't know if that's the case here. You could do a web search on your mystery DVD and see if others are reporting strange problems with it.

fork out the money for Any DVD and Clone DVD. They always update them to handle these new protection spots, when they get news of them from users of their product. The only trouble I have is when someone ice skates on the source DVD.
