Hi
I don't have any logs to post...but well here is my problem:
I have been trying to burn TDK 1-16X Dvd-r at 8X and I also tried Sony's at the same speed with DVD Shrink and Nero, and Imgburn. With dvd shrink- it would burn the disc but when it writes the lead-out --it takes 5 or more minutes so slow. First I thought it was a media problem with TDK, so I switch to Sony--same thing happened.
Then I thought it was the driver's problem- so i check if dma mode is one and it was on. How do I find the burn logs for dvd shrink- if i knew how, I could post the burn logs. Can someone help me? This problem is bothering me and I cannot burn any disc and have 20 coasters already/ thanks in advance

DVD Shrink can't burn DVDs itself. It uses Nero by default or you can use DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn. All generate burn logs. I don't remember where Nero keeps them, but probably in the program folder. With ImgBurn, just look under 'Help>ImgBurn Logs'. BTW, ImgBurn is highly recommended for DVD burning, especially over Nero.
Yes, the burn logs would help considerably. With an external burner, (USB 2.0 assumed) there can be problems with the USB interface or the burner, cables, power supply or enclosure. Do you know the name and model of your burner? NexxTech is just the enclosure name. ImgBurn may be able to tell you which burner you actually have. If it's a 20X burner, I assume it's a fairly new one, and should work OK with your media.
BTW, burn logs are just text and can be pasted into your post. If using Nero, be sure to blank out your Nero serial number at the top of the log.
And welcome to our forums. -

looks like a computer problem, maybe not enough physical memory or bad/dying ram. if you look 10 lines up from where you wrote (this is where...., you will see that there was a system memory error.
try a ram test program first like this one from microsoft.
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
then maybe consider adding ram as 512mb is not really enough for winXP.--

Thanks so much everyone for helping me.
This morning I got so fed up with my dvd burner that I went and bought a new one. After enabling the DMA mode on everything --my old Nexxtech burner still didn't work- It would burn the dvd on imgburn, but it still would not verify it. After some seaching I went to buy a Pioneer DVR-X152 burner at Best Buy---finally a SUCCESSFUL BURN!!!!!
I AM SO HAPPY---BUT I REALLY HOPE THAT THIS BURNER WILL LAST LONGER. THE NEXXTECH BURNER WAS CRAP AFTER ONLY 9 MONTHS...
]I AM SO HAPPY THAT I AM GOING TO POST MY SUCCESSFUL IMGBURN LOG HERE. ANYONE WHO HAS THIS BURN AND HAVE ANY PROBLEMS--PLEASE INFORM ME--SO I CAN KNOW AHEAD AND RETURN IT IN TIME.
-----and also i have some questions- for imgburn-what is better to use SPTI or ASPI? and outside the package- it said that this drive is supports media manufactured by CMC, Maxwell, MBI, Princo, or Ritek (TDK?) , BUT WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS THAT CAN I USE OTHER MEDIAS SUCH AS SONY---these might be so much better than those Ritek TDKs).
THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN.
oh and here is my burn log----
