I've had some problems with Power Producer, apparently an early version that came with my computer.

For starters, it doesn't seem able to understand the difference between 4x3 and 16x9. Files that are in widescreen show up all squashed, filling the screen and leaving everyone tall and thin. I haven't found any control that tells it to do such video as letterbox. IS there a control on PP (again, must be the first version) that will let me letterbox widescreen videos, a control I can't find?

    Separate problem:
I'm trying to burn discs off two .dat files from a homemade VCD, but PP won't do anything when I try to do the discs as VCD. Three different times the machine has sat there doing NOTHING while it's supposed to be "creating and organizing folders", let alone actually burning the disc. Twice I let it run like that for over an hour and it did NOTHING.

I then tried to burn the same two .dat files as a DVD, using EXACTLY the same project setup, but going back to the first "page" and changing the setting from VCD to DVD.

The program immediately began organizing the files and a while later I had my DVD.

WHY won't it work when I've got it set to create a VCD? Is it because the files were .dat files? It doesn't want to work with something that's already been on a VCD, or something?

If anyone is familiar with PP and can help out with these two problems...

    Thanks!
