    Hi i need some help
    I have installed k-lite codec pack 3.9.5 by default goes CyberLink MPEG-2 Decoder for DVD Decoding after instaling K-lite codec pack i play DVD movie with Windows Media Player and i see one black border, one gray border and the picture of the movie is litle pale (white). this happend also when play DVD with PowerDVD 8 Ultra. When i play DVD with BSPlayer pro it use same decoder CyberLink MPEG-2 Decoder the picture is great with one black border and clear pic of the movie. to be sure that system default decoder is CyberLink MPEG-2 Decoder i remove CLVSD.ax from C:\Program Files\K-Lite Codec Pack\Filters and now i play with bsplayer and i don't have pic od the movie also with PowerDVD 8 ultra and with Mindows Media Player Move plays but with bad quality i think it uses quartz.dll by default. when i install WinDVD the pic is great becouse it use own DVD Dedoder Intervideo but i don't know what is the problem why CLVSD.ax is making problem. please some advice.

    All you have really done so far is prove that different players use different codecs and then on top of that, you installed K-Lite with a boat load of other unneeded codecs. My suggestion, uninstall everything (ALL of the players and codec packs), use a program such as codecsniper to clean up the remaining codecs, use a good registry cleaner to clean up your registry, and then start over. Install only the player or players that you want, and then install codecs only as needed (NO codec packs).

    ok i'll do but what is best dvd decoder for watching dvd on pc? i use players that uses system default codecs and by defauld k-lite install cyberlink and what should i have to install than? there are few dvd decodera cyberlink, intervideo, Gabest, libmpeg2, CinePlayer DVD decoder and all want money and i k-lite all is for free. i just want good quality of the pic nothing else i shoud use one of the best CyberLink or InterVideo DVD Decoders and where i can find it. and by the way i use k-lite only with needed codecs for my pc.

    For free, use VLC or MPC.

    As for k-lite, is isn't recommended because it installs a bunch of codecs that you don't need and likely won't ever use making a mess of your HDD and registry often with results like you are now having and sometimes impossible to fix without reinstalling your OS from scratch. You likely only needed 2 or 3 of the dozens of codecs installed by k-lite. I would suggest starting over as I outlined above.

    And there isn't a "best" player. They are all about equal. The major differences are often in the features provided.
