    quick question

I have to add a title and music to this min-DVD recording we did for school. Its a .vob and .ifo file, but I can't use those in windows media player to edit. How can I get those files into a workable format so I can edit?

  3. Hi-

If by a title you mean something to be played before the actual video, then you can create it and then join it to the video easily enough, perhaps during the reauthor. If you mean text to be played on top of the video, then you should have thought of that before creating the video as now it'll have to be encoded all over again with the text added in. Unless it's OK to make a subtitle out of the title.

Anyway, first demux (PGCDemux). Add in the title, either as an additional small video or by reencoding the video with the title added in. Remux with the audio and video (Muxman). If you have 2 pieces of DVD compliant video (M2Vs), they can be joined during reauthoring by using the "Add" button in Muxman. That's one way, anyway.

Most editors doesn't support dvd sources so editing dvd is not that easy today.

I use vob2mpg and can then edit the mpg directly in wmm. But it doesn't work for all depending what mpeg decoder you have.

Or switch to a mpeg2/dvd editor like mpeg video wizard or if you just need to cut/join use tmpgenc dvd author, videoredo.
