hey guys ive got a weird problem here
i just installed a new pci ide card and my problem is when i connect 2 harddrives to it ,it will not load windows it just sits on the wndows xp boot screen but will not load but it will load if i disconnect one of the harddrives
i bought a new psu yesterday 550watts
i have the drivers installed and the card works fine with one harddrive connected but 2 installed and no go
anyone got any ideas to solve this problem

Did you install the drivers for the card? Promise cards replace the OS disk drivers with their own. These load before Windows boots.

drivers are installed for the raid controller from the disc provided it says that it might not work properly until i reboot
i then reboot and it just sitts on the windows xp boot screen with the little blue thing that scrolls across stopping and starting
when i disconnect 1 of the harddrives ide cables doesnt matter which one it will start fine
so it has to be something to do with the card not liking to harddrives connected of a driver issue
please help someone

it will only let me load with 1 harddrive installed andthe harddrive is reconised in windows -
Is one drive set as master and the other drive as slave? Or are both set at "cable select"?
