Basically some of my games work fine, such as unreal III and oblivion. But im having trouble with others (ones that are supposed to be compatible). Basically i put the disc in and the computer will keep trying to read it for about 10 miutes, then a message will pop up saying that a program (the game) wants to open up a message. The computer tells me that the problem was caused by some programs that have incabability with vista. Seriously getting annoying as ive only just bought BAW 2, now it wont work. Im pretty sure it has something to do with needing admin control to do everything on vista (even though my account is the admin ) I miss XP so badly.

Instead of complaining in a public forum about the stupid Vista OS, go claim your refund for Windows XP and be done with it.

I already gave you an advice: get Windows XP.

Windows Vista is so bloated, broken, and so badly designed that it is considered a complete and utter disaster, Micro$oft won't do anything about it.

I'm assuming you are R clicking the installer and using 'Run as administrator'? You also have the option there in 'Properties' of running the game in XP SP2 compatibility mode. Some games use 'tricks' to get the most out of XP and may have problems with Vista.

Have you checked this site for Vista compatibility? http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_Software_Compatibility_List
Also visit the game manufacturers site and check there for compatibility information. Also do a search to see if there is a forum for that manufacturer or game, either sponsored by the manufacturer or fans of the game.

If the particular game is one you really want to run, consider setting up a dual boot system and have XP as an option. You can do a Google search for ' dual boot vista and xp ' for ways to do that.

Lsstly, ignore others opiions about Vista.

From what I can see, B&W2 runs fine on Vista.

And as redwudz pointed out, EA states the same: http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=14357&p_created=1...SZwX3BhZ2U9MSZ

  9. It should run fine on Vista. Vista is not as bad as people think. I work for a company that is deploying Vista. I use Vista at work and home. You should try compatibility mode.
