I use my computer mainly for P2P. I am buying a new one and I wonder if a Mac has any advantages over a Windows PC? I have a Windows PC now and I use BitComet and Peerguardian2. Thanks in advance.

regarding P2P, since it is internet based technology, and doesn't
pertain to anything directly hardware related, the machines
match up the same in this regard.

Azureus and Transmission exist on the Mac for torrents,
as well as the original BitTorrent client.
PeerGuardian2 exists for the mac as well.

The only thing I can think of is that you're much less likely to encounter a virus or other creation from some miscreant if you use OSX; rather, you're much less likely to get hammered by a virus, etc. if you use a Mac. The viruses will still travel to your Mac (and back out to others).

Still, any prudent P2P user will have plenty of virus protection in place and will always check all downloads before double-clicking on one, right?
