Hi all,
I've been here forever so I figured I'd finally join. Anyway it doesn't hurt that I have a question.

We often transcribe interviews using a cassette-based system (xfer audio from DVcam or Beta to cassette, sometimes with TC on track 2, then our transcriptionist uses the footpedal and types into word... the old fashioned way).

Time has come to get rid of the cassette tape. I'm looking for a way to instead transcribe from a computer file (preferably one with a tc track).

I've found Express Scribe, but it mentions nothing of TC, and I would still need to know the easiest way to create the file to begin with.

So I guess the question is... if I use a program like express scribe (let's assume it reads TC), what can I use to embed tc into a media file (and what media file for that matter) so it could be referenced later on.

We're working on Avids, and have mixers pro decks etc. so hardware and access to codecs is not a problem.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions (especially ones that do NOT mention speech recognition software. :P )
