Hi
Does anybody know how Youtube can transcripts the audio track and generate a subtitle? Is it live, on the fly? Or it stores the subtitle somewhere linked with the video?
How it filters the background noise and identifies just the voice?
Is there any tool around, I may download, which allow me to transcript the audio?

I have enabled it on some videos and it's far from any good....so it's not any linked subtitle. But I have no idea what they use.

Baldrick,
yes, I know the result is far from any good. As you said, most software requires learning time to achieve good results. And about this subject, it seems that 'Speech Recognition' is somewhat of a Holy Grail in the computer world. The promised day never comes...
I found this. As we can see, we are far from that day when the computer would transcripts audio streams accordingly.
But the question remains: What Youtube does to get that?
Thank you.
