Hey all. I FINALLY got my new computer. I purchased an
Athlon XP 1.47 with 512 DDR and an 80 gig 7200 HD. I am finally getting some stuff moved from the ancient relic PII 400mhz. I moved over all of my TMPGEnc programs and decided to try one out. I loaded up the 2.0 version and put in a 54 minute avi in. I hit encode and nearly lost my mind. The time left said 34 minutes! Is that right?!?! On the 400 that length file would have taken at least 3.5 hrs. I remember it being said that TMPGEnc only performed at .6 or less than real time about...7 months ago. Is this a result of the revisions in the program that all my new hardware takes advantage of? I am probably just dumbfounded by what I have been missing out on having a dinosaur computer. Any feedback is much appreciated.
