  1. Hello

I am new to this site and am in need for some help or advise.

I have a Sony HandyCam which records onto mini DVD's. Unfortunately the one I bought does not hook-up to my computer so I am left with a mini DVD that is playable on my DVD player which is hooked up to the TV. What I also want to do is send video clips to family, etc. but I do not know how to do that exactly. I was told I need to first get a dvd decrytor program onto my system and then need to convert it is that correct? I have the software "Pinnacle" on my system, but that does not do it all (I believe it will convert it, but not decrypt it).

Can someone please tell me what program(s) I need and where I can get them from so I can get these video clips off my mini DVD's and onto my operating system?

Not sure if I explained myself well enought, but it's a start.

    Thanks in advance!

Nope, you don't need any dvd decrypter program, they are just for decrypting commercial dvd movies. You should be able to just copy the dvd-video to your hdd or use dvd conversion tools directly from your dvd.

I guess latest Pinnacle 11 can import from dvds directly or can you try the vob2mpg to convert the dvd to one mpg that you can try import in pinnacle (or other video tools).

Or use other dvd video converters like Autogk, FairUse Wizard and convert to AVI DivX/Xvid for you family.

Or use TMPGEnc Xpress and convert to wmv.
