Ok I have digital hd cable but I still get an analog feed and I split that with a powered splitter to my hdtv and my pc for recording. Just recently my G4 station just disappeared on the pc! It also disapeared on the tv feed as well. At first I thouhgt maybe the channel got dumped by comcast but it is still there on my hd dvr box. Why would it disappear on the tv and pc split?

Also on a side note I have never had the CBS station fed to my hdtv off the analog split either. Why would certain channels not be carried over on a powered coax split?

  2. It sounds like the G4 channel was dropped from their analog lineup and made available to digital subscribers only. Don't be surprised to see this happen to more and more channels as they make room for more HD broadcasts.

Yeah I'm starting to wonder about that. I checked out another tv set that is hooked up to an analog feed only and the same thing. No channel.

Damn thats frustating. So that means more and more analog channels will require a box then? That isn't good.....

  4. Note that the cable box is fully programmable. Any channel you select on the box can be any channel they are broadcasting on. So if the box is tuned to channel 5 that doesn't meant that the box is displaying broadcast channel 5.

I suspect cable companies will reduce the analog lineup to not much more than local over-the-air channels over the next few years. They want all that bandwidth for more HDTV, pay-per-view, and subscription stations.
