I am half tempted by some ebay knockoff ZUNE speaker docks. There are some under 10.00. However I am extremely hesititant to trust my 200.00 30gb Zune to a knockoff.

My destination for this is my desk at work. I don't need anything fancy since I am in a cubicle environment and can't crank it up very much. This also makes a 2.1 system unncessary and overly bulky.

I do like the Altec Lansing speaker dock but a 100.00 is a little pricey for me to leave at the office.

I have seen that the Logitech x240 system offers a zune charging dock. However it is a sub system. BUT the price is attractive at 50.00. I could go back to the store and see if I could test it without the sub attached. Like I said I don't need a lot of power since my volume doesn't go high at work.

Ideally I could use unpowered speakers that simply hook into the headphone jacks. I do have a set I have used often but the cable is only three inches long. I would like some that attach to the charger dock. My goal is for a small footprint.

I wish they would have an affordable alarm clock type speaker model in the 40.00-60.00 range like those ubiquitous IPOD alarm clock radios. My best right now is that logitech x240.

I am actually currently using my rear speakers from my analog Logitech 5.1 speaker system. I'm only using the front speakers on my old computer right now. The only drawback on my desk is the speakers are relatively large and the cable length is excessively large since they are meant for rear speakers. I also have to use a rca-headphone jack adapter which is just more clutter.

Suggestions are welcome. I am taking Thursday off and I may do some more browsing for smaller speaker sets. Thanks.

If you're planning to buy a docking system, don't buy a cheap one. The power supply could be poorly made and cause damage to your Zune. Also, the sound probably won't be very good. I'd watch for a deal like this:

On the other hand, if you simply want to plug some speakers into the headphone jack, something cheap might work okay.

    OR..... How about these speakers:

    I like those r2d2 speakers!

I hadn't realized there were altec speakers on ebay for under 50. THanks epicurus.

I think I might end up jsut going portable unpowered speakers again. I do have a pair but they are a clam shell design and don't seperate out nor do they have a long cord. IT will be either that or possibly the x204 logitech speakers.

    THanks.
