I have successfully used NERO 6 to burn AVI videos from my computer hard drive onto a DVD-R.
My problem is trying to add additional videos to the same DVD at a later date. Is it possible to do this?

Not unless multisession is used (not default setting); even then it has compatibility problems with many DVD readers - not recommended

Your best bet is to wait and burn a full DVD at one time. Otherwise, just get a few DVD-RW discs. You can then at least burn a file to use now, then when you need to add more, just copy it off, erase the disc, and burn the previous movie and the new movies back onto the same disc. You could also use CDRW discs for single movies, then burn them all onto a DVD when you have enough for a full disc.
