I think I am about to lose the will to live... tmpgenc worked fine till a couple of days ago..now it will only encode 10-50% of the movie I put in to it. I have tried everything removed it reinstalled it..remove and reinstalled the codecs..also no other encoder works either starts fine then crashes..Nero has stopped burning also..I am now thinking it might be a PC problem someone suggested it might be the Ram on its way out...But me being a female how would I know ...please please help.

Well, all of your problems should be giving you a clue...
Go to CONTROL PANEL > ADMIN TOOLS > EVENT VIEWERS and tell us of any unusual errors.
Also, get thee a memory testing program and run it.
Also, if you had bothered to fill in your COMPUTER DETAILS, we could have possibly had more information on how to "please, please help you".
And what is this "with me being a female" stuff? The last woman who tried this on me received this reply, "Okay, I'll fix this - you go into the bedroom and get naked."ICBM target coordinates:

A simple answer to my question would have sufficed ..not all ur macho crap..answer people's questions without the attitude..or dont bother

Let's see...
You've posted 4 times in almost 6 years of being a member. 2 of them are in this thread. I think it's fair to assume you don't regularly keep up with the forums here. That's your business, but it could help you to understand more about what's going on.
It could be a variety of things. Bad disk drive. Bad memory. The need to completely reinstall Windows. Those are just for starters.
YOU were the one who pulled the "female card" out to begin with and played dumb. Sorry you didn't like the answer, but it wasn't all that bad. If you want to play with the boys here, you need thicker skin than that. -
You DID pull the female card first. I seriously doubt anyone would have even gone there if you hadn't. You came and asked for advice and were given advice and got an attitude when you were told what to try.
It doesn't sound like what happening is the fault of the program(s). Bad RAM could be one of many things going on. Get a memory testing program and try it. Follow SKL001's advice and see if there are any errors being reported and post them here. You need to give as much information as possible for anyone to try and solve your problem. Just saying your programs are messing up and maybe it's bad RAM doesn't tall a whole lot. Follow the legitimate advice give to you and don't take the "macho" thing so seriously. It's a double standard that you can pull the dumb female card and get mad when someone makes a comment about it. -

that deserves to be labeled as "macho crap". OK, it was the "macho crap" patriarchal "culture"
that invented the "natural human female", but the women who keep repeating its outdated
formulae like well-trained parrots are NOT less guilty (quite on the contrary). -
Doesn`t look like you are gonna get much help does it................?
But being a male how would I know.... -
A real male would haul out the vacuum and clean that PC. Might not vacuum anything else in the room, but the inside of that PC should be dust-free.

As you see, you made a bad joke - noone of these experts get it...
Iīve seen a lot (male) posts like: help me, Iīm a Noob, newbie, even Iīm stupid, an Idiot etc.
And noone, I repeat NOONE made a drama out of that !
So, seems that everyone only leaves his female / male discussion point, and thatīs it.
Now serious:
Like already said - seems to be a heating problem.
Clean up the dust, check your AC/DC power supply and the Processor vent. I donīt think this is a RAM issue, but overheating.
Good luck, Lady. -

try a system restore back to a time when you know it worked

Seems to be a popular thread. Why? Oh, yeah, the "female" thing... I do get the joke too, and there was sarcasm involving the fact that her gender is vastly outnumbered here.
Well, I do wonder sometimes why these video forums have such a high amount of males in the M:F ratio. I can't see why more women wouldn't be interested in video, or codecs and the like. I'm not making a sexist assumption - it's so obvious that there are many, many more males here, and in other similar forums too.
Outside of forums when talking video, again, males, males, males, although I would have no issue discussing this with any gender - it's just that males seem interested.
And my hat's off to the Mods for not coming in here and being all Nazi about this subject (unlike another certain forum... cough cough).
Oh yeah, and BTW, I do too believe it's a RAM issue that's the problem. That could be caused by failing hardware itself or very simply there's too much crap installed on your computer and causing conflicts and burdening the memory - and that would need a backup of your stuff and a clean reformat of your drive. Do the latter first, and if that doesn't work then you need to do a little shopping...
Ok, I couldn't resist making that joke if you got it...:PI hate VHS. I always did. -

Men just seem to be a lot more interested in how stuff works than women are. That's not meant to be a sexist statement, that's just how it is. To be honest with you, I'm seriously impressed that the original poster even knows how to use TMPGenc as we can probably count on one hand the number of women here who know that much, but her attitude really left a lot to be desired. -

defrag hard drive. clean puter with vacuum. loose component (i.e. RAM, video card, etc.). bad windows install (or driver). As there are no details regarding machine, including operating system installed.
