  1. I have anamorphic DV AVI on which I uses some filters in VirtualDub. After encoding new DV AVI from VirtualDub, 16:9 tag from header (or whatever that tells other editing and playback software what is propper format of DV AVI file) is lost and file is shown as 4:3 (vertically "stretched"). Also, I can't edit it in Premiere in my currently open anamorphic project because editing software treat it as "stretched" 4:3 (media player also does not propperly resize file).

Is there any tool that can set this 16:9 "property" in AVI file header? Or anybody know any other way to fix resulting AVI so other software treat it as 16:9?

  2. I'm not familiar enough with VirtualDub but I expect someone will post a solution that is a simple setting. I'm sure this will be the fix.

However, you can run your final DV AVI files through our software (see signature) and use it to simply change the aspect ratio flag within the DV stream itself.

If you choose to try it, make sure you check the "Disable navigation/seeking" option (described in the Help file) so that the conversion will be as fast as possible instead of realtime.

Note, some software looks at the AVI header for aspect ratio information whereas other software looks at the DV data within the AVI.

  4. Really? I've had one report of that from someone else. My ISP hasn't been able to resolve it, though.

If you'd like to PM me with a suitable email address, I can send it to you.
