I just bought this card and it came with 1.8.0 driver software (which worked). So I went onto the blackmagic website and downloaded the newest 1.8.2 driver software isntead. After installing the software and restarting my machine, it told me that I needed to upgrade the firmware on the Intensity Pro, so I clicked okay and the program ugpraded the firmware. When it was done, it told me to restart my machine, which I did. Then, it told me yet again, that I needed to upgrade the firmware, so I ran it again, finished again, restarted again... then it all happened again, it put me into an infinite loop of firmware upgrading. Unfortunately, because the firmware upgrade isnt working, I cant capture any video, and unfortunately because I ran the firmware upgrade, the old 1.8.0 software can no longer detect the card...
Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone have any solutions?

only vista ultimate is supported according to their site. make sure all your hardware is on the list.

you may have to return it as "defective"--

People on doom9 said that Home Premium works no problem... and 1.8.0 worked before I upgraded to 1.8.2.

is all your hardware on the approved list?

the approved list has like 4 things on it... its not even worth checking... but yes, my PC can definately handle it... like I said, it worked in 1.8.0, but it died after 1.8.2... and its a problem with the CARD itself (firmware issues), not my computer.

the question wasn't is your computer good enough. it has to do with does the software know how to handle it. so are your motherboard, vid card, etc. on the list or not?

Call Black Magic support Monday morning.
Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

I had the same problem so I put that card to a different slot and the problem went away. You can also call Josh or Dan at blackmagic design. They are very helpful
