A bit of an obtuse enquiry for this forum but I have many excel engineering programs and am investigating the best way to link the avi tutorials on how to use the Excel program.
Is it possible to start an avi tutorial movie from a cell in Excel?
Appreciate help on this.

As far as I know you can't embed an AVI in Excel (but I think it is possible to do that with a MPG).
What you CAN do is link to the AVI (Insert - hyperlink). That does of course require that everyone who is using the Excel file has the same path to the AVI, otherwise the link won't work.In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
