How to activate macro's in Excel 2007 with a spreadsheet from Excel 97

I have created an Excel spreadsheet using Office 97 and my friend cannot activate the macro's, he is using Office 2007. Since I have not seen Office 2007, I am unable to tell him how to activate the macro's.

I don't think the OS has any play in this, however, I am using XP Pro he is using Vista.
