Vegas video recognizes my Canon zr85, but not my zr50mc. When I plug
zr50mc by firewire to laptop, computer recognizes camera, but Vegas
Video 4.0e does not in the capture portion of program. ZR50mc is recognized
by Windows Movie Maker so I feel it is not the camera, but the Vegas Video 4.0e
that is the problem. I have gone to the Sony website for any upgrades, however,
there aren't any for 4.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Vegas is up to version 8 now. There will be no more updates to version 4.Originally Posted by grimeyboy

Well, I was wrong about WinDV recording from Canon ZR50mc. That program does recognize the camera, but it will not allow me to capture.Originally Posted by edDV

The Canon ZR50mc is a DV format camcorder so should be obeying the standard. Talk to Canon support.

It is possible the camera has a bad firewire port as the cable works with my other Canon ZR85 DV camera. However, I know @ one time the camera did work in Vegas Video after I downloaded an update of some sort. I'll contact Canon again. Thanks for the assistance!Originally Posted by aedipuss
