RMVB uses a much lower bitrate than DVD requires. If you are converting them to DVD you need to use a bitrate approximately 4 times greater than the RMVB source to maintain similar quality. Also, you are probably resizing the resolution up, which will increase the appearance of any problems in the source.

I'm using "easy mpeg avi wmv rm to dvd" It''s real simple the settings are at 4:3 since i dont want widescreen and Ntsc,Do you think it raises the bit rate on it's on since it's converting to dvd or should i use another program to convert it with a higher bit rate to like avi,or divx any of the formats that the "easy mpeg ect..program" supports, and i can use it to convert an put it on dvd>?

It possibly calculates the bitrate based on the running time of the videos you put into it. You should avoid putting more than three hours on a single layer (DVD5) disc. Personally, I would use ConvertXtoDVD if I had to convert RMVB source material.

I only put 2 hours and 40 minutes on each dvd5,and convert x is much worse when i used it to convert the same amount of video files

I suspect that the converter you aree using is not the best (in fact I know it is) and unless your RMVB files are alread DVD resolution, you are going to expose artifacts when your resize. Again, I suggest giving ConvertXtoDVD a try.

32MB is very small, so I suspect that you have low quality and low resolution. There is nothing to you do to substantially improve the quality. You can try encoding and authoring at VCD resolution, but eventually you will put it on the TV, it will be blown up to full resolution, and it will still look like crap.

If you want to create a quality disc, you need to find a quality source.

If you convert it to avi first you could try using virtualdub's temporal smoother.
