Ive got an old DRM100s and its the 2nd model of this recorder thats crapping out on me. Is there a new model that has similar features?

The new models are all crap. Recording modes and quality is not the same.

At least in the USA, current JVC models appear to be rebadged VCR/DVD combo decks with none of the traditional JVC advantages. I don't think they even sell a DVD-only recorder here anymore.
If you need the specific quality and flexibility of your DRM100s, your best bet is to shop for its companion combo deck on the second hand market. The JVC DRMV5s VHS/DVD combo recorder uses the exact same DVD recording parts as the DRM100 but is a lot more common and easier to find. Look for one without a remote, and you could find a good clean example for less than $50. (You can use the remote from your DRM100, recorders that include the remote sell for double $ so why not recycle your old remotes and save money).
