Is there any DVD recorders out there or online that has a 160 HDD and a RGB input in the recorder. If anyone knows any sites online let me know

  2. No: this is a dead issue which has been discussed here many times. There have only been a couple of recorders with RGB (component) inputs: a Polaroid, a similar Magnavox, and an old Sony. All are long discontinued, no longer available new, and unrepairable bad risks used/second hand. Component inputs are considered a "threat" by Hollywood so most mfrs caved and decided not to put them in recorders, not even semi-pro or industrial models.

Either accept the compromise of S-video inputs, or get a card for your PC with RGB inputs. The S-video input of the Magnavox H2160 (160GB, $198) or Magnavox MDR513H (320GB, $269) is very good, and will create a true 16:9 recording if you set the machine to that format. These are the only two DVD/HDD recorders left in the North American market aside from leftover Pioneers and the Panasonic EH-69 which cost $500, have no American DTV tuners, and limited ability to record 16:9.

If you need the component inputs because your STB only outputs wide screen over component then your best option is a component to S-video converter which run between $100-200.
