    is there any programs that will allow me to capcure something from the tv stright to a dvd like a stand alone? and will allow me to select the lenth like one hour up to six hours like a stand alone? I have a cheep tv card installed on my pc and when I capure something it breaks it down into seperate files on my hard drive, dont know how to capcure an entire show with out it breaking it apart (like a ufc match 5 some hours long} my tv card issbt-tvfm/ sn:808971481986) HELP and thanks for any and all advice

    http://www.ulead.com/learning/dmf/dmf4_05_1.htm but I don't think it has any 6 hours mode(low quality).

    You cannot put more than 4 hours on a DVD.
    Past 4 hours, it looks worse than VHS, and is less than half the resolution of VHS.

    1-2 hours is so-called "DVD resolution" with DVD bitrates. It's higher resolution for film and DV transfers.

    3-4 hours is about what your normal tv sources look like -- cable, VHS, broadcast, satellite, etc. These should use 352x480 with medium bitrates (some crappy machines use 720x480, which looks horrible at the lower bitrates).

    4-6 hours is crap. VCD or lower quality, lots of blocks, really blurry videos, worse than any VHS tape (even at EP/SLP mode) ever was. It's about the quality of Youtube video at best. Yuck.

    Capture cards were not made to go straight to DVD.
