Blu-Ray DVD player unresponsive

Hello guys,
My LG Blu - Ray DVD burner / Player does not recognize BD-R or BD-RE disks. I called the excellent factory LG tech at the who immediated shipped me a new player. Today I installed the new player (plug and play) but the computer does not recognize it! Why? It was a simple install - only two plugs. I completely shut down the PC and unplugged the power before removing the old player and installing the new player. The player acts as if it is dead - without power! The tray does not open. The power lamp is off. What happened?

I guess you have tried disconnect it and reconnect it again? And check the connections at both ends, to the computer and the burner.
