I noticed that the author of AutoGK has gone back to a 2006 version of the Xvid encoder due to the latest version not making the files sizes they should be. I also noticed that the newest version of AviRecomp has the latest version of Xvid codecs. Two questions:

    1) if I install AviRecomp, and AutoGK is already installed, will the Xvid codec that comes with AviRecomp replace my older Xvid version that came with AutoGK?

    2) has anyone that has used AviRecomp seen any issues with the newest Xvid codec?

All the references that I've seen to xvid always specifically state to remove the old/existing version BEFORE installing a new version. Based on that, I wouldn't expect you can have two version coexist.

    But I could be wrong.
