Hello,
I use Premiere 6.5 to edit with and I have been doing just fine using the PIC video lossless compressor. Well my machine took a dump and I had to back up all of my video files that I was using. So I got my machine back up and running, reinstalled Premiere and the PIC video compressor and copied all of my video files that I was using back. Only now it says that the video uses "an unsupported compression format". But I can still compress with that compressor in Premiere and even import newly created files using that compressor. But I cannot import files that were made with the same compressor 2 months ago.
Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hey,
Yeah they play in windows in everything including media player. The only difference that I noticed in GSPOT was that the old file says "AVI v 1.0 VDUB segment" which I can only assume is because when I broke the original .VOB file down into smaller pieces I used Virtua DUB to do it. But I reinstalled VDUB and it reads the file fine......arghhhh.
Thanks.

Hi Guys,
I think I got it fixed! I opened a menu file from a DVD that was made from before the machine died and everything had to be reinstalled and it opened fine. But the rest of my files still would not open with the "unrecognized compression" error.
So I opened the menu file and the video file side by side in VIRTUAdub and I noticed that the menu file did not have any audio. So I started thinking about the process that I use to rip video and I figured that maybe the compression error might be hitting on the .AC3 (dolby) audio.
I looked around and found file that I actually think I installed once before for vdub to activate DVD audio. And viola! It worked!
The name of the file is:
AC3ACM.zip
and the site where it is: http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/~fcchandler/AC3ACM/index.html
The site where I got the link from is:
https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=ac3&Submit=Search&s=&orderby=Name&hits=50&co...uthorfeatures=
Anyway, thanks!
