I am using DVDshrink to copy dvds. am using Vista premium. I used it once before to copy a dvd it went thru fine.
Now I went to copy another dvd and it anyalys's fine but when does it's encoding thing. it will reach about 33% and it will freeze. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling did system checks, and still nothing.
Please!, if anyone one can help! I am at my wits end.

I tried two diferent movies, superbad and 3:10 to yuma. which I was trying to copy from copies. But the one that worked was a copy of Charloetts web and that one worked fine. Now both that I had tried stop at 33%.

Also, some drives work better than others with marginal or protected discs. My LG GSA-H55N 1.05 seldom fails to read a disc, but my Lite-On LH20A1P KLON aborts with "cyclic redundancy check" (CRC) errors fairly often. Sometimes cleaning the disc helps. Sometimes just trying it again, repeating several times, will eventually get it to read. However, please note that trying to read bad discs repeatedly that return CRC errors can put your drive into PIO mode permanently, requiring extraordinary measures to return it to normal DMA mode operation! http://winhlp.com/node/10

Some reported success with 3:10 by running through FixVTS first then Shrink.. try it!...
You might also try with DVDRB instead of shrink...

My problems is not with just 3:10 it's with any movie I try. Is there any certain setting in either dvd shrink or vista that I can change.

The drive could be bad. To find out, substitute a different one. You should have a backup handy anyway. Better yet, install two, preferably different brands, then you'll always have a backup handy. I suggest that one of them should be a Lite-On or Benq so you can do quality scans of your burns.

Are you using Shrink for rip>copy>burn?...
Shrink is outdated. Though still a very good program, what you need is a new ripper for newer movies....
DVDFab HD Decrypter or better yet Fab Platinum..others will suggest their preferences...
As stated above try, DVDFab HD Decrypter>shrink >IMGBurn
You can skip Shrink all together if no compression is needed or you burn to DL media..
