I recently bought a Toshiba HD-02 off Craigslist. When I went and purchased the player the seller showed me that it worked. Im not sure what happened as it came with no remote or manual but the hard buttons on the unit itself (IE play, pause etc.) do not respond at all. Anyone have a link about how to fix this issue or where I can purchase a new remote for it? Even a little help programming it into my MX350 would help. I can't get any of the Toshiba codes to work on it.

I hope you didn't pay more than $180USD for it because you can buy a brand new A30 and get 7 free HD DVD's.

The Logitech Harmony remotes work for the Toshiba players. And you will need access to the setup menus to set it up properly for how you have it connected.

The Logitech Harmony remote costs more than the HD-A2 did.

Yeah the Harmony's cost more than the players.
BTW:The A3 + 7 free HD DVD's are going for $140. -
There are several versions of the Harmony remotes. Not to mention that they are truly "all-in-one" remotes. You won't need any other remotes for any of your other hardware.

Have you tried Toshiba's website for a manual?

You can get Logitech remotes for as low as $59.99 from sellers on Amazon or EBay. They aren't always the friendliest remotes to use but once get the hang of them they are fantastic!

Logitech's website lists the Harmony® Advanced Universal Remote for Xbox 360® as $99.00. This is about the same as an HD-02 was at Wal-Mart this past Christmas.
The cheapest other Harmony remote that is not specifically for Xbox360 is $129.00. I suppose you could get one of these for less somewhere, maybe even for $59.00, but that is still a lot of money for a remote for a $100 or so DVD player. -
All of the Harmony line support the same IR based hardware including the Xbox 360. You are looking at the version created specifically for the Xbox 360 which is color matched to the Xbox and has the four buttons specific to the Xbox remote.
There are likely several other brands/models that will work. My only point is that the Harmony line is the only remotes that I'm aware of that can actually be configured to replace multiple items with full button support. Not like the cheap $20-30 "All-in-One" remotes which you end up trying multiple hardware codes for each item you want to add and then still find out most of the buttons aren't supported.
In this case alone, it would control the Xbox, the PC, the TV, and any other hardware connected to the TV (receiver, DVD player).Google is your Friend -
I also use mine to control my Fujitsu Mini-Split AC/HVC climate system

Yes, they will work with pretty much any IR capable device. If the Logitech software doesn't have the hardware profile, the remote will "learn" the commands from the existing remote. Very handy indeed.
