  1. from time to time I seem to accumulate .db files. they may be thumbnails, maybe not.

can find out what they are doing s Google:

    not decibels, Denver Broncos, etc

is there a way to open them on a mac?

    cheers and thanks

Most often THUMBS.DB: Windows XP Thumbnail Database file. If a Windows folder is set to display thumbnails for graphic files this is the file where they are stored.

I'm not aware of a Mac app that can open them, but they're pretty useless anyway.

Older versions of Graphic Converter, circa v. 4.x, could
open the .db files. I haven't tried with the latest version,
but who needs them when you cna do basically the same thing
    in coverflow with Leopard?
