    I have a Windows Media Remote and Windows Vita Home Premium on my machine. I prefer to use the MediaPortal software as opposed to Windows Media Centre, and I would like to know if it is possible to remap the green button in the centre of the remote (with the Windows logo) so that, when pressed, MediaPortal is linstead of WMC.

    search for HIP (google), this will allow you to remap each button to perform any action, this is not super easy, it is probably a 5/10 difficulty... you need to remove the existing driver to get this to work right, but they show you how on their site...
