first of all im sorry if this is repeated question ,,
i was reading all over the net till i found this place
i have dishnetwork and im getting sick of it and im switching to directTV my question is
is it possible to record from Direct tv to my pc through Tv tuner ,, i dont want HD cose i dont have any
and if yes what is the best cheap Tv tuner i can get ?
and how to set it up .. i was thinking since i can get up to 4 recivers to ask them to give me one reciver just for the computer and then from there hook it up to my Tv tuner ,,
im not sure about all that ,, im just assuming and through my reading alot of ppl said you cant record from direct TV cose they encrypt of have special signal
i would really appreciat any help

This is correct: "you cannot record from DirecTV because they encrypt the signal". Best you can do is an analog capture, and any good capture card or DVD recorder will do.

I have direct tv and i use to capture off the receiver or direct tv tivo. using my capture card before i got a dvd recorder.
