  1. Hello everyone I recently went from 2GB of PC2-6400 memory to 4GB of PC2-6400 memory+64 bit, but I still had the other 2GB just lying around so I decided to see if they would work together. When the 4GB kits on its own it comes up as PC2-6400 same with the 2GB kit but as soon as I put both together it goes down to PC2-5300 in the bios. But cpu-z still shows it as PC2-6400 both kits are made by OCZ is there a way to get it to detect as PC2-6400?

I think you need the same size mem modules in all slots to use them at full speed.
At least that's how it is with my mobo.

  3. This is normal. When you mix two different speed RAM sticks, it will run at the speed of the slowest stick. To fix this, you must have all sticks be the same speed.

Actually, the OP already stated both sets are the same speed. The issue is likely your MB. Many MB's reduce the speed of the memory when all of the memory slots are full/used. The only solution is to replace your MB. Besides, depending on how you are using the PC, 4GB is likely already ovekill.

It doesn't matter unless you overclock the bus on your CPU. Your CPU is 1333 FSB so your memory is only going to run at 333 MHz (PC5300 speed). You'd need a CPU with the 1600 FSB to require 400 MHz speeds from your memory. The nice thing is that "underclocking" your memory like that generally means tighter timings, as is shows in the CPU-Z readout for 333 MHz speeds.

Check your BIOS and see if there are some memory settings to play with. There may be a divider in there to set a ratio like 1:1.2 or something like that (system bus 333 mghz to memory bus 400 mghz), i'm not sure though. When you play with that stuff you may lockup and have to clear your bios and start over.
