    Hi

I use vlc to play xvid files. Lately, I have started noticing artifacts .... like when there is a sudden action scene like somebody moving his hand then that path of hand movements seems to hang on for 2 seconds before it becomes
normal. Previously, I was using 17 inch crt monitor but now switched to 19 inch lcd viewsonic monitor. I dont remember if this issue started after I got this monitor or I was able to play normal on this lcd.

I tried bs player pro but with same problems..
My video card is fx 5200 but I am planning replace my machine itself instead of the card later on..

    pls suggest !

Sounds like typical playback of poorly encoded files. Although unlikely, it could be codec related. Ensure you have the latest version of the codec used on your xvid files (you can check the files using Gspot) and playback with a player like MPC. VLC uses it's own codecs, so the only way to get it up to date is to ensure you are using the latest release.

ok, I would try to play those movies on my laptop and check for the artifacts and let this forum know about it.
