Does anyone know if the 470 will play DVD +R DL discs? If so, do the discs need to be burnt as DVD-ROM ?
Any help/advice appreciated.
Thank you![]()

Not exactly what you asked for but you should read it anyway...
If you use ANY DL media other than Verbatim DVD+R DL, please do NOT come back crying about how it doesn't work. If you want DL media to have the best chance of working for you, you MUST USE ONLY Verbatim DVD+R DL discs. If you save money using Ritek or other crap brands of DL media (every brand of DL media except Verbatim is crap), you will find out that the money you "save" is lost with making coasters or discs that seem to burn OK but won't play.
Newer DVD players almost always will play DL media. Yes, burning as DVD-ROM, if you can, will help. For best results, we recommend ONLY using ImgBurn (it's freeware) to burn with. Again, if you use any discs other than Verbatim DVD+R DL discs and you don't burn with ImgBurn, you are likely to have problems.
