    Hello

I am experimenting with MKV but I am unable to get the chapters to work. Whenever I open the file in VLC it says

"VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of 'E:\DVD\Projects\VIDEO_TS_VTS_01_PGC1\VIDEO_TS_Cha pterX5.txt' cannot be detected. Have a look at the log for details."

Im obviously doing somthing wrong but I cant work out what. I am usinge r4r and GK to convert the file from a custom DVD

EDIT: the video files source are NTSC (29.9 FPS) how do I convert from NTSC to PAL using GK?

Open the mkv with mkvtoolnix and see if you see the chapters. If not something is wrong.

THankd for the speedy reply. I will give that a go now and let you know the results.

I have just edited my original post to ask another question. The video files are in NTSC (29.9 fps) but I need them to be PAL. How would I convert from NTSC to PAL using GK? THanks for you time

Right I have opend it in mkvmerge GUI and in the "Tracks, Chapters Tags:" section it does show "Chapters (7 entries) from VIDEO_TS.mkv.

I assuming this means that it can open it and it VLC which is the problem? or is there somthing else I need to check on mkvmerge to be 100% sure

    Sorry to bump.

I Get "VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of 'E:\DVD\Projects\VIDEO_TS_VTS_01_PGC1\VIDEO_TS_Cha pterX5.txt' cannot be detected. Have a look at the log for details." when trying to open a mkv file i made in VLC

So I opened it in mkvmerge GUI and in the "Tracks, Chapters Tags:" section it does show "Chapters (7 entries) from VIDEO_TS.mkv. Which is the right

Does this mean its a problem with VLC or my MKV file?

    Thanks
