    Hi,

Basically i'm trying to make a compilation DVD of some stuff, some of it is older 4:3 material, but the newer stuff is 16:9.

Now i know that to do that i need two seperate VTS, one for the 4:3 and one for the 16:9 stuff.

The problem is i'd prefer to have just one central menu that links to all of the content on both VTS'. Is that possible? I'm using DVD Lab PRO 2.

I don't really want to end up with three menus to link everything up, it will just be clumsy.

    Cheers
    Simon

I don't use DVD Lab PRO -- what happens if you just try to put them on the same menu?

Anyway, I know that in GuiForDVDAuthor this is no problem.

Seems you'll need a VMG menu.

    HTH.

P.S.: It looks like the Multi-VTS feature of DVD-lab PRO was designed to work
only for DVD-Forum~compliant video. That is to say, if (e.g.)
one happens to have SVCD/DVB mpegs and wants to mix resolutions and/or
framerates and/or aspect ratios, better put all videos into a single-VTS ---
DVD-lab will spit a warning during the design phase,
but will compile your project correctly anyway --- otherwise one will
get incomplete video_ts folders because of an infamous "compiler error".

    It's easy.....

Just add a new VTS in DLP, add two bridges, they can be added from the bottom of the connections window, use them to bridge to the new vts and back from it.

If you want to add a second menu for the second VTS video, say a chapter menu as it's easier than adding 20 bridges from the main menu, just add it in the new VTS and bridge from that back to the main menu.

If you have a bunch of diff. vid you can make as many VTS's as you need, but everything in the same VTS must be the same specs.

    Thanks for the info
And now , the big question (@ the makers of DVD-lab PRO):
what is the VMG-menu good for ---
especially when the f***ing manual does not say how to make the compiler accept it ---
or why the compiler does not accept it

but everything in the same VTS must be the same specs.
Except if the standalone was designed to not give a sh*t about the
    narrow-mindedness of the DVD-Forum cretins.

Anything that uses multi-VTS would work.

If the player carries the DVD Video logo then it expects DVDs to follow the spec. Otherwise it would not be licensed. The fact that it may play other things as well is irrelevant.

George W. Bush too has the right to label as "irrelevant"
anything that unpleases the W.A.S.P. narrowmindedness.

It must be hard going through life being so wrong so often, and being so unable to accept it when it happens.
