Does Mac OS X Leopard work on PowerPC G4 also - or only on the latest Macs w/Intel processors?
Thanks

Minimum officially supported specs are 867MHz G4 w/Firewire but you can get it to run on less powerful systems.

Thanks, ffooky.
Also, wondering how do you guys like it so far?
Was $129 worth of upgrading now? Thanks!

I really like Leopard. I upgraded to a new iMac, too, so it was always going to be the complete experience, but there are a number of features which are just great - Mail, Spaces, networking, the new Finder. Definitely a positive experience for me.
Go off and rule the universe from beyond the grave. Or check into a psycho ward, whichever comes first, eh? -
I haven't made much use of the headline-grabbing features yet but the less heralded changes are spot on. Screen Sharing is a nice quick alternative to Remote Desktop, the checkbox in the Get Info window allowing any folder or volume to be made shared is great and the way mounted volumes are handled is light years better than Tiger.
Safari is much improved, QuickTime/DVD Player, Preview and Disk Utility likewise.
Don't like the new dock or menu bar but tweaks are available or in the pipeline. A couple of third party apps aren't working yet (Popcorn 3, XLD, Play, Max...) but it won't be long.
If you have the money to spare, I recommend it without reservation. -
Finder changes are very welcome. Also Time Machine is probably the best new feature I'm making most use of.

I running OS 10.5 (leopard) on the "minimum" Quicksilver G4 867 Mhz machine and it's almost fine.
There was a recommended install, "Login & Keychain Update 1.0" software upgrade, which has made a bit of a mess of dial-up for me.
Before it worked on OS 10.5; nowsometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. There's a work around which is also intermittant.
I cloned my old OS 10.3.9 MacHD to a Firewire drive before insyall, (recommended), so I'm using that for dial-up till the problems resolved.
Apart from that no real issues; fullscreen DVD playback on a 16:10 screen of 4:3 material is great; but I really wish I could afford one of the new intel quad core G5s .... -
Hey I got know that right now the Apple Mac OS X Version 10.5 Leopard is on sale for $109 instead of $129:

I'm not impressed. It seems to crawl on my wife's Laptop, it refused to install on my iMac.

Only if that G4 is 867mhz or better ( in my own tests,
a minimum of 1ghz seems to be ok, but with at least 1GB of ram)
I tried on a G4 533mhz, just to see and it was SLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
