    I doubt there is any. Sony is one of the "worst" brands as far as "hacking" goes, as they are also content producer, and actually think RPC is a good thing.
    If you need a region free DVD player - Buy a region free DVD player.
    A simple workaround is to create a backup of the wrong region DVD, as all rippers remove the region code protection by default.
    But then comes the PAL/NTSC issue which is a totally different matter.
