I recently bought a Lite-On DH16D2P-03 drive to replace my dying DVD-ROM drive. The first few weeks it was great. The last week or so, top ripping speed for DVD is at 2x, no matter the disc condition. DMA is still set. I have been unable to find any firmware updates for the drive.
Any suggestions?

I found and removed some spyware from my system and that seems to have cured it.
