  1. I am using Sony DVD Handicam to take my movies. The movie format is VR.

Using Windows XP professional and AutoGK tool to convert those .vro files into .avi.

When I am using Adobe Premiere to open those .avi files, I am getting error message, "Media cannot be opened, Unsupported Audio Rate in the file".

    How to fix it?

    Waiting for your help.

What audio compression are you using in autogk? mp3? or do you leave it as ac3?

But I would instead use VOB2MPG on the DVD and try import the mpeg in premiere and if that wont work convert the mpg to DV-AVI with Virtualdub-MPEG2 or VirtualdubMoD because you are losing lots of video quality when converting to avi xvid/divx using AutoGK.

In the 'Step 2: Select Audio Track and Subtitle Track'
There is only one entry, 'Audio Stream 0 AC3' which is automatically checked. As there is no other option, I am not removing this check mark.

    In the advanced setting,

I am using, Audio: VBR MP3 128 kbps
Output Resolution setting: Auto Width, and
    Codec: XviD

Please suggest, what should I do to use these settings effectively.

I have downloaded VOB2MPG but it is seemed that it only handles the VOB files only. Presently the file I am using is .VRO files, and the program cannot open my file.

VBR MP3 is not good for any editing try use CBR MP3 but xvid and mp3 are not designed for any premiere editing.

I missed that you had a dvd-vr. Have you tried open the vros directly in virtualdub-mpeg2 or virtualdubmod?

Or maybe consider switching to a dvd/mpeg2 editor like mpeg video wizard or the mainconcept mpeg pro plugin for premiere.

I have not used this AutoGK program to convert my .vro files into .avi this time. Still I am interested to know the proper settings of Audio and Video which I should use for converting into .avi for the purpose of editing in Adobe Premiere.

I did not use these tools prior to read this post. I am very happy to say that after reading your post, I have successfully converted the .vro files into .avi using Virtualdubmod.

As the above served my purpose, I did not try these tools anymore.

Thank you for your kind attention to my post. My problem is now solved.

My best gratitude to you. Thank you once again.
