The GE 1401P Player, and compatability

I don't personally own this player, I went Apex

But... my friend does.

I wanted to ask if anyone out there has this player, and could report on its compatability for VCD, SVCD, and VBR on both VCD's and SVCD's.

On it's spec sheets (hard to find, took me all night), it only claims plain VCD playback, and MP3 playback, but so does the 1101 player, which seems to play everything, including SVCD and variants!

Crossing my fingers that I can take some discs to my friends house, and all my stuff is either XVCD, XSVCD, low-bitrate stuff. Maybe the 1401P is similar?

Any response should consider adding it to the DVD Players list (HINT HINT HINT)

All I can tell you is that the 1401P is a Samsung Based unit, then is in the process of being phased out

The 1101P is a Shinco based unit.

Search some of the old post through here, it has been mentioned, but I didnt pay much attention to them since I dont own the 1401P
