Why do I get message from different sites that my javascript is disabled when it is enabled? I verify already in the Internet options/security/custom level.
I am also invited to download flash player which I already have.
Can someone help me?

My first guess is that you have a anti-virus or similar program blocking it. Javascript and ActiveX controls are blocked by some programs as a security risk. But in that case, the program should have notified you. At least mine usually do.
Norton Internet Security, and Zone Alarm PRO are two programs that may block it. This site can also test to see if Javascript is working. http://www.javatester.org/version.html Lots of other Java info there also.
There are settings in Internet Explorer to block Javascript and ActiveX controls. 'Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level'. Other programs may have similar settings.
About the only other thing I can think to do would be to uninstall all Javascript and reinstall.
And welcome to our forums. -
what browser are you using when the message appears? m.s. ie version#, firefox v#, or something else?

Thank you all for replying
My browser is IExplorer7.
I enter http://www.javatester.org/version.html and I am more confused.
Since i can see the pink stuff it means my JAva is working...this is a surprise....
I will study the site some more during the day. -
You can also receive those type of error messages when the site wants you to be using a newer version. For example, you may have v1.9x, but the site wants you to have v2.0+.
The java test sites verifies that you have a working version, but that doesn't mean that you have the version needed for the site you are trying to use.
Best bet is to just install the newest version. If that doesn't work, then it is likely a security settings issues.Google is your Friend
