I can't get mine to play, but I also can't tell if it's the player or the disc. Help! Thanks!

Several sites with specs all list the same (no DL):

    Plays back DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD, SVCD, MP3, WMA, DivX (3.11, 4.x, 5.x and 6.0), JPEG, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4

Yeah, I had checked out those sites before I posted. When I went home, I got out the owner's manual, and it says it WILL play dual layer +R's, but it won't record to them.

Most manuals and official specs don't tell you what does and does not work anyway. You need to test for yourself.

And even then, you need to use good discs.
